ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR IN ANIMATION
Part-time, Adjunct Teaching Position
School of Art and Design,
College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
University of Wisconsin-Stout

Starting August 31, 2012.

DESCRIPTION: 2D ANIMATOR:

Animator with primary focus on traditional and digital 2D character animation, as well as, stop motion animation.
The instructor should have the ability to direct advanced projects in all animation mediums (2D and 3D).

Primary Skills:
2D Character Animation
Stop Motion Character Animation

Secondary Skills:
Ability to direct advanced 2D and 3D animation projects
Animation for 2D games

Course information:

DES-375/575 Animation Studio is a combined level and repeatable course (Animation I, II, III, IV) that provides
students an introduction to traditional and digital 2D animation, as well as, stop motion character animation.
Intermediate and advanced students work individually and in teams in a variety of animation mediums to create
narrative based animated shorts. The course is also offered as a graduate level course within the MFA in Design.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach one to two studio courses each semester, which would include beginning, intermediate
and advanced animation. Contribute to a rigorous learning environment with willingness to use traditional,
alternative and digital delivery methods including participation in a laptop teaching and learning environment.
Demonstrate organizational skills, collegiality and leadership skills. Commitment to undergraduate teaching is
necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:

M.F.A. in Studio Art or Design with an emphasis in Animation or equivalent terminal degree in visual arts,
with an emphasis in digital media

Ability to teach on Macintosh

Evidence of teaching potential
