Michelle Barfoot

MN SIGGRAPH and Minnesota Electronic Theater
Michelle is Assistant Professor of Multimedia Design at the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she teaches Interactive Design, Digital Imaging, and 3D Modeling and Animation. She's the faculty advisor for the Stout Student Siggraph Chapter. Michelle has worked in the Computer Graphics field for twenty years in a number of capacities including: Software Application Specialist, Information Architect for B2B corporate websites, Interactive Designer and Digital Media Artist. Michelle holds an MID from The University of the Arts where she studied Interactive Computer Graphic Systems. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, art, films, travel and shamanic drumming.

Jean Haefner

Vice Chair, MN SIGGRAPH
Jean has been enamored with multimedia for over 20 years and with degrees in Advertising Design and Photography and a MFA in Interactive Forms, MS Haefner has taught in these areas, and worked professionally as a Web Designer and Online Course Developer for over 10 years. She recently took a job under a Title III grant as Technology-Based Curriculum and Web Designer at the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she is helping to spearhead a campus-wide e-portfolio initiative. She has prototyped and/or developed a number of Web presences there; including the Advisement Center and Transfer Student sites, the Title III main site, and various help sites. A favorite is the information oriented site developed with Flash templates called e-Links! In addition, she currently teaches various multimedia courses in the Art and Design Department at UW-Stout.
Her research areas of interest include: interactive video and narrative, digital imagery, Web 2 interaction and emerging design principles, video conferencing, learning portfolios, student-centered teaching, and interfacing with the metaverse

Christopher Lyner

Chris graduated from the Art Institute International Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts and Animation in the spring of 2006. Since then he has been with Digital Pictures Inc. as the animation and visual effects specialist. He primarily deals with Media and Entertainment (M&E) software and hardware sales, but spends a lot of time supporting and researching technical issues for customers. He also does training sessions on the M&E software and runs the Minnesota 3D Studio Max user group (MUG). Chris does animation, editing, and visual effects work. In his spare time he enjoys going to the park with his children, biking, canoeing, and camping.
